Featured on Amoena: Self-Health Advocacy & Reconstruction

II was honoured to be featured in a Real Story interview on the Amoena website, where I spoke about self-health advocacy, informed decision-making and navigating reconstruction after mastectomy.

In the conversation, I reflected on my breast cancer diagnosis in 2017 — including what it was like to face complex treatment decisions, explore reconstruction options and learn how to advocate for myself in a healthcare system that can feel overwhelming.

I also shared a message I wish I could send back to myself at the time of diagnosis.

Thank you to the Amoena team for creating space for this conversation and for continuing to highlight real stories that support women in making informed decisions about their bodies and their care.

You can read the full interview on the Amoena website.
